Sea Change Art Show

Kindergarten - 8th Grade students created a body of ocean-themed artwork to be on display at Mobile Arts Council in Mobile, Al throughout May 2016. The show is titled Sea Change.
The exhibition features papier-mâché sculptures, mixed media collage, assemblages, printmaking, mosaic, and paintings. Most of the projects consist of recycled material. Grades K-5 made art inspired by different sea creatures and their habitats. Grades 6-8 created artwork in response to pollution found along our beaches and the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The artists’ goals are to highlight the beauty of our oceans and marine life, while bringing attention to the dangers facing our oceans.
4th and 5th grade students created sea creature magnets. All proceeds will go to Mobile Arts Council and Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Their mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
